Ever seen those bumper stickers – How’s my driving, am I driving good – Call this number?
Great aren’t they… mmmMMMmmm.
I mean, do you honestly know ANYBODY who’s actually bothered to call the number and say “that drivers’ real great”?
And here’s why.
You’re driving along and you see this number and decide to call it – except you can’t – you’re not allowed to as you’re driving.
If you do, and you’ve also got one of those goddam stickers, you could get another driver calling the number complaining that you’re driving while using your mobile (text and e-mails also count before you ask).
And if they’ve also got one of these stickers…
I think you can see where I’m going with this – I hope.
So, you make a mental note of the number and pull over to make that call.
Then you get the message “Our lines are busy at the moment but please stay on the line as your call is important to us”.
Damn right it is as, what you don’t know is, that you now could be connected to one of those goddam premium numbers that cost 100 bucks a nanosecond.
You can always tell if it’s a premium number.
Because you now get messages such as:
– “This call may be recorded for training purposes”
– “Please select one of the following options – The options have recently changed so please listen to them all before choosing”
– “Please login or create an account”
There is a solution…
If you REALLY feel the need to make that call – reverse the charges…
